Women's New Racer Program

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Women’s New Racer Program - sponsored by Pace Ranch - designed to help women who are new to racing and would like support from our amazing mentors and coaches.

Who is eligible?

Any woman who is new/newer to racing. You must be a Category 4 or Novice racer and you must have a working road bike.

Program Schedule

Thursday, February 22nd, 2024: 10:00am-3:30pm @ Naranja Park

Morning (~0.5hr): Basic bike check.
Morning/Afternoon (2hrs): Skills clinic led by Lauren Hall
- Grass Skills: breaking, close riding, contact, bottle handoffs/grabs
- Parking Lot Skills: cone slalom, tight left/right combo turn, looking over the shoulder while riding straight
Break for a quick lunch (45mins)
Coaches/athletes will all ride to do some course recon of the circuit race course. (~1hr)
Evening (~2hr): Question/Answer session with coaches at packet pickup, which is located at Tucson Endurance Performance at 7231 E. Speedway Blvd.

Friday, February 23rd, 2024:

Coaches arrive before the start of Novice race to set up tent and help riders prepare for Time Trial.

- Help with number pinning (teach how to pin numbers solo)
- Warmup suggestions

Post-race debriefing

Saturday, February 24th, 2024:

Meet your mentors

Lauren Hall

Lauren was a member of the USA Cycling National team for five years, raced in four world championships, and is a 3-time Track National Champion. She was a member of USA Cycling's winning Giro Rosa team, the most prestigious women’s race in the world, and also won the Gent Wevelgem. In addition to being the Regional Gift Officer for USA Cycling, Lauren volunteers her time with the Homest

Ava Hachmann

Ava was born and raised in Durango Colorado, and she has been riding and racing on the road for over 10 years. Her mom was an elite level mountain biker, and her parents founded the cycling team at Fort Lewis College 30 years ago.

Ava’s short term goals for 2024 include getting in a solid winter training s eason and coming into the first team races feeling confident in form. Long term

Mallory MacRostie

Mallory started racing bikes in 2021 and went from a Cat 5 to a Cat 2 that season. She won the Cat 2/3 Intelligentsia Cup omnium in 2021 and became the Arizona Time Trial Champion in 2022. Off the bike, Mallory works in campaign politics, first working on Jamie Raskin's congressional race in 2016 and then going on to manage several races in subsequent election cycles. She got her
