Women's New Racer Program

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Women’s New Racer Program - sponsored by Pace Ranch - designed to help women who are new to racing and would like support from our amazing mentors and coaches.  

Who is eligible?

Any woman who is new/newer to racing. You must be a Category 4 or Novice racer and you must have a working road bike.  

 Benefits to joining

  • 50% off registration 
  • Access to elite level athletes as mentors and coaches 
  • A structured program (beginning Thursday, March 2) with plenty of goodies 
  • Community-building with fellow female athletes 

In order to receive your discount code, please email  bekah@goodnewscommunications.com with your information. Bekah will provide a discount code and answer any questions you may have about this program.

Program Schedule

Thursday, March 2nd, 2023: 10:00am-3:30pm @ Naranja Park 

  • Morning (~1.5hr):  Basic bike repair session led by a skilled mechanic from Bicycle Ranch Tucson.
  • Morning/Afternoon (2hrs): Skills clinic led by Lauren Hall
    • Grass Skills: breaking, close riding, contact, bottle handoffs/grabs
    • Parking Lot Skills: cone slalom, tight left/right combo turn, looking over the shoulder while riding straight
  • Break for a quick lunch (45mins) provided by Tucson Bicycle Classic
  • Coaches/athletes will all ride to do some course recon of the new circuit race course. (~1hr)
  • Evening (~2hr): Question/Answer session with coaches at packet pickup.

Friday, March 3rd, 2023:

  • Coaches arrive before the start of Novice race to set up tent and help riders prepare for Time Trial.
    • Answer any questions
    • Help with number pinning (teach how to pin numbers solo)
    • Warmup suggestions
    • Pre-race tips
  • Post-race debriefing

Saturday, March 4th, 2023:

  • Coaches arrive before the start of Novice race to set up tent and help riders prepare for Road Race.
    • Answer any questions
    • Help with number pinning
    • Warmup suggestions
    • Pre-race tips
  • Post-race debriefing

Sunday, March 5th, 2023:

  • Coaches arrive before the start of Novice race to set up tent and help riders prepare for circuit race.
    • Answer any questions
    • Help with number pinning 
    • Warmup suggestions
    • Pre-race tips

Meet your mentors


Lauren Hall

Lauren was a member of the USA Cycling National team for five years, raced in four world championships, and is a 3-time Track National Champion. She was a member of USA Cycling's winning Giro Rosa team, the most prestigious women’s race in the world, and also won the Gent Wevelgem. In addition to being the Regional Gift Officer for USA Cycling, Lauren volunteers her time with the Homest

Kimberly Lucie

Kimberly lucie is a native of Tucson and currently races for the UCI continental women’s professional DNA Pro Cycling Team. She loves rubbing elbows in the last laps of a crit while on lead out duty, has been on the podium of national level races including a win at the Manhattan beach Grand Prix and a Third place in the Tucson Bicycle Classic.


Mallory MacRostie

Mallory started racing bikes in 2021 and went from a Cat 5 to a Cat 2 that season. She won the Cat 2/3 Intelligentsia Cup omnium in 2021 and became the Arizona Time Trial Champion in 2022. Off the bike, Mallory works in campaign politics, first working on Jamie Raskin's congressional race in 2016 and then going on to manage several races in subsequent election cycles. She got her
